Czech dance performance by LuAnne and Brad Anderson
The Last Dance - Lasšký Starodávný - LuAnne and Brad Anderson perform their last Czech dance in their final Czech dance performance, April 9th, 2010, at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, for the Czech Language Foundation banquet .
We are introduced by our good friend, Dr. Mila Saskova-Pierce, who provides a translation of the Czech song we are dancing to. This dance, Lasšký Starodávný, is the story of a mother walking through life with her daughter until her daughter marries a young man and leaves her mother behind, alone like a pear tree in the meadow.
At the time of this dance, the Anderson's were still in the process of diagnosing LuAnne's Semantic Dementia. The dementia was already taking it's toll, and LuAnne was no longer confident and sure of her dancing.
